About The Position

The position involves developing strong working relationships with customer accounts and providing timely resolution of issues and concerns. The individual will assess customer needs and act as the point person in developing and managing account specifications and procedures to ensure quality, efficiency, and profitability. Responsibilities include managing daily order level data, recommending improvements, and implementing changes. The role requires receiving, analyzing, and responding to a high volume of communication daily, managing the order process flow to contract specifications, and ensuring optimal delivery performance by selecting the best carrier and managing the tracking process. Additionally, the position involves maintaining inventory accuracy, performing inventory audits, and managing order acceptance and maintenance through various transportation management systems. The individual will also communicate with shipper and consignee contacts regarding exception notifications and problem resolution, while maximizing profitability and reducing customer cost exposure by managing assets effectively. The role may involve additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or management preferred.
  • Experience in the transportation industry preferred.
  • Experience with EDI processes, Web Tender Portals, and electronic communication preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Customer-focused with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to inspire others to find creative solutions.
  • Strong multi-tasking and priority management skills.
  • Self-directed yet a strong team player.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong working relationships with customer accounts.
  • Provide resolution of issues and concerns in a timely manner.
  • Assess customer needs and manage account specifications and procedures.
  • Pro-actively manage daily order level data and recommend improvements.
  • Receive, analyze, and respond to a high volume of communication each day.
  • Manage the order process flow to contract specifications.
  • Ensure optimal delivery performance by selecting the best carrier and managing tracking.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and perform inventory audits.
  • Manage order acceptance, maintenance, and accessorial management via communication and transportation management systems.
  • Offer alternative transportation solutions by analyzing account metrics.
  • Maximize customer accounts' product quality at the lowest cost.
  • Determine billable accessorial charges and assist in collections.
  • Communicate with shipper and consignee contacts regarding exceptions and resolutions.
  • Maximize Hub profitability and reduce customer cost exposure by managing assets.
  • Maintain quality service by monitoring standards and advising supervisors of potential problems.
  • Work with management to address and resolve concerns in a timely manner.
