About The Position

The role will be focused on driving the business development efforts for the firm's North America Top Client Program. The successful candidate will be a team player with strong organizational and writing skills and sharp attention to detail. They should be able to communicate accurately and professionally with both internal and external clients and vendors and to work independently and complete tasks efficiently with minimal oversight. Additionally, success of this role will be an individual who is comfortable working with lead relationship partners and wider partner teams to identify, qualify and drive revenue-generating opportunities with clients. The individual will be required to develop a strong understanding of the firm's capabilities to align opportunities with the relevant experience and be comfortable with taking ownership and driving this process.

Requirements

  • Prior law firm experience preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems and a high level of proficiency with MS Office software, particularly excel.
  • Ability to interact independently and professionally with senior partners and business professionals.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete day-to-day projects in a timely fashion.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work at all levels with confidence, a positive attitude and the ability to gain credibility quickly.
  • Ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Flexibility to manage demands outside of traditional business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Leading, shaping and executing the strategy for North America Top Clients, working collaboratively with fee earners, the North American Business and Client Development Team, and the broader global team of CDMs, BDMs, and senior firm management as appropriate.
  • Implementing, tracking, analyzing and evaluating activity associated with business development initiatives across North America Top Clients and recommending strategies to increase the initiatives' overall effectiveness.
  • Conducting client, prospect, industry, competitor and market research/analysis to inform targeted business development efforts.
  • Assisting with pitch and RFP efforts, including developing customized content.
  • Creating and managing marketing materials and activities, including seminars, conferences, sponsorships, etc.
  • Driving strategic initiatives that promote greater collaboration across North America and increase revenue.
  • Supporting the North America Head of Business Development and Senior Client Development Manager(s) on other projects as directed.
  • Maintaining the operational standards of the Business Development team to ensure our branding approach is implemented effectively, our approach to pitches and RFPs is informed by sector knowledge, and the management of events is efficient and cost-effective.
  • Effectively supports and communicates the key aims of the firm's business development agenda, assisting partners, lawyers and team members in maintaining an awareness of these aims and guiding their implementation.
  • Maintains an overview of the developments taking place in the firm and their market and communicates those developments to partners, lawyers and other team members.
  • Contributes to the continuing development of business development tools that support the implementation of our plans.
  • Exemplifies the attributes that we wish to communicate to the market.
