About The Position

Explore with us in Southern California as Terracon's next Client Development Manager! For this opportunity, our new employee-owner will support developing new opportunities on vertical and horizontal projects specific to public sector clients for our environmental, facilities, geotechnical, and materials testing service lines. This opportunity is for an experienced Architecture / Engineering / Construction (A/E/C) industry Client Development professional who will be responsible for fostering current key relationships and developing new ones, along with identifying business opportunities critical for Terracon's growth and success in the region. This position may be based in either our Los Angeles or Orange County Terracon office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Marketing, Communications, or related degree with 10 years' related experience in the public sector.
  • In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 14 years related experience.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.

Responsibilities

  • Actively pursue new business opportunities and solidify Terracon's long-term client and partner relationships within the public sector.
  • Determine appropriate professional organizations to network with potential and existing clients and develop intelligence regarding the firm's competition.
  • Utilize existing contact base to develop leads and provide new project opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to guide messaging for marketing materials including qualification packages, proposals, and other client submittals and communications.
  • Lead, inspire, and mentor the team of operations professionals to engage in the client development process.
  • Provide client development leadership within multiple offices across the region.
  • Manage key client relationships, track and report client development activities, facilitate strategy meetings, and motivate and train in client development.
  • Collaborate with regional management to develop client development plans, budgets, and performance goals.
  • Develop key competencies in the companies' business intelligence tools to assist managers in strategic decision making.
  • Facilitate strategy meetings for both client and major project pursuits.
  • Oversee the process of managing and reporting client development results.
  • Engage department, office, and regional management to keep them informed of activities and results.
  • Work with corporate personnel to assist in overall company goals related to revenue growth.
  • Attend conferences, professional organizations, and government and technical meetings/events as a representative of Terracon.
  • Develop understanding and awareness of project-related risk and company risk policies.
  • Lead Public RFP submittals and coordinate with the marketing team to deliver high quality proposals.
  • Mine existing on-calls contracts by identifying key personnel in public agencies and understanding procurement processes.
  • Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure compliance with safety rules and guidelines.
  • Continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects and promote the importance of client experience.
  • Use network to assist department, office, and regional managers with recruiting efforts.
