About The Position

Backed by Columbus Humane’s 140 years of experience serving our community, the Columbus Humane Essential Care Center is a first of its kind clinic offering comprehensive subsidized care including preventative wellness, medical treatment, nutritional, and surgical/dental services for at-risk pets. We believe in supporting the teaching mission of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the Rachael Ray Foundation Pathways to Careers in Animal Health veterinary assistant training program. As a Client Care Representative on our team, you will have the opportunity to work with an exceptional group of professionals that share the common goal of exceptional care. CHECC is in Columbus Ohio, an area known for its diversity. Columbus is the state capital and one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, featuring multiple metro parks, distinctive neighborhoods and several venues for art, culture, and sports. The Columbus Humane Essential Care Center is currently seeking an innovative, open-minded Client Care Representative to help us dramatically increase access to quality veterinary care and nutritious pet food for our neighbors struggling to get care for the pets they love. This candidate is a dedicated associate and will think, communicate, and always act in the best interest of our human and animal clients. And, as a bonus, you will have the backing of your Veterinary Clinic Administrator, the Veterinarians, veterinary support staff, on-site Social Worker, a Program Manager, and a pet food bank coordinator. Requirements

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office necessary.
  • Passionate belief in Columbus Humane’s vision, mission and values.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
  • Ability to foster a collaborative team approach to solving challenging situations.
  • Must be able to maintain accurate records, recognize people & understand written direction.
  • Willing to learn new techniques & to accept change.
  • Dependable attendance is required.
  • Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize workload from multiple sources.

Responsibilities

  • Thinks, communicates, and acts in the best interest of Columbus Humane and our human and animal clients at all times; models our mission and values in all job-related functions.
  • Serving as the primary customer care provider for Columbus Humane Essential Care Center clients, during and following their visit with us.
  • Creates and supports open dialogue with clients, enters new clients into our system.
  • Answers the phone in a timely manner and direct calls.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments and maintain event calendars.
  • Copy, file and maintain paper or electronic documents and records.
  • Actively supports staff and volunteers.
  • Always represents Columbus Humane in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provides quality service to clients, students, and staff recognizing their individual contribution to the success of our organization.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a comfortable, clean & safe environment of which clients, the associates & the management can be proud.
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and disinfects all client facing environments as necessary.
  • Follows proper safety protocols for people and animals and sets a high standard for quality care.
  • Strong telephone & computer skills are necessary.
  • The ability to handle transactions, maintain a balanced cash drawer and properly complete day-end reports.
  • Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Veterinary Clinic Administrator.
