About The Position

Brenner LLP is seeking an experienced and detail‑driven Client Accounting Services (CAS) Lead to join our growing CAS department. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning client relationships, delivering high‑quality financial work, and serving as a trusted resource for both clients and teammates. As a CAS Lead, you’ll manage a portfolio of clients across industries, oversee core accounting and reporting functions, and collaborate closely with our CAS team to ensure accuracy, consistency, and thoughtful service—while working within a supportive, well‑structured firm that values sustainability, clarity, and professional growth.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with QBO, Xero, BILL, Gusto (preferred), and related accounting software.
  • 3+ years managing multiple client engagements across diverse industries, including onboarding, clean‑up, process design, optimization, and full financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete month‑end closes, review and analyze financial statements, and build scalable workflows for both cash‑ and accrual‑basis clients.
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including debits and credits, key accounting concepts, and the structure/purpose of financial statements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally across digital platforms and in person.
  • High attention to detail and strong critical‑thinking skills, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in both individual and team work.
  • Resourceful, proactive problem‑solver who can work independently while recognizing when collaboration or escalation is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of Clients Accounts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality accounting services tailored to client needs.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of accounting professionals, driving performance, professional development, and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement efficient accounting processes, including bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and building strong relationships to ensure high client satisfaction.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure integrated services and seamless client experience.
