We offer competitive wages, great benefits, and an excellent work-life balance. Status: Reports Grocery Manager Purpose: To keep beer cooler, wine shelves, and endcaps fully stocked. To provide prompt, courteous customer service to meet department objectives. Customer Service: Assist customers with product questions in prompt, courteous & friendly manner, referring questions to other staff if necessary. Help customers place special orders. Explain discounts. Respond promptly to front end requests for prices and assistance. Keep aisles clear and stays out of customers way while stocking. Product Knowledge: Knowledgeable about most products. Continues to learn about new products. Answer questions accurately. Product Presentation and Quality: See “Job Specific Functions”, below. Maintenance and Conditioning: Keep stock on shelves, in clean, orderly condition. Clean shelves and racks as requested by manager. Remove cardboard promptly during and at end of shift; remove trash as requested by manager. Return equipment to assigned area. Keep carts out of way and not blocking traffic. Keep equipment in working order. Treat equipment with care and respect. Report state of building problems to manager. Participate in periodic inventory and preparation as needed. Keep supplies stocked; informs manager of other supplies which are needed. Safety: Handle hazardous equipment carefully. Aware of presence of others when using such equipment. Use proper lifting techniques. Wear appropriate shoes. Mindful of potential hazards to customers and other employees and takes actions to correct hazards. Teamwork: Continue to work while greeting customers in a courteous manner. Does own share of grungy tasks as requested by manager. Looks at whole department when prioritizing tasks and completes these tasks in a timely fashion. Always conscientious about co-workers and works with the team for department efficiency. Give verbal communication to next shift if necessary or written notes if urgent. Comes to work on time. Takes breaks when appropriate and comes back from break on time. Treat members with courtesy, patience, respect. Gives clear direction with input from manager. Accountability: Accept responsibility for own actions. Exemplifies honesty, integrity and ethics. Job Specific Functions: Stock shelves, without overcrowding; face items that have been stocked; front as necessary. Make sure labels are facing customers Check dates and rotate older stock to front. Make sure items are labelled by a shelf tag or sign. Keep fair pace in fronting by getting to most needed sections.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to take initiative at all times.
