About The Position

Incumbent serves as Clerk for Superior Court 2 and Superior Court 3, responsible for assisting Court Staff with daily tasks as assigned. To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function of the position satisfactorily. Requirements

  • High school diploma or HSE.
  • Working knowledge of standard office and court policies, procedures, and related terminology, and ability to apply such knowledge to a variety of interrelated tasks.
  • Ability to properly operate a variety of standard office equipment, including computer, printer, telephone, and copier.
  • Working knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling and punctuation, and ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other County departments, and the public, including being sensitive to professional ethics, gender, cultural diversities and disabilities.
  • Ability to work on several tasks at the same time and complete assignments effectively amidst frequent distractions and interruptions.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions/directions and appropriately respond to constructive criticism.
  • Ability to competently serve the public with diplomacy and respect, including occasional encounters with irate/hostile persons.
  • Ability to comply with all employer/department personnel policies and work rules, including, but not limited to, attendance, safety, drug-free workplace, and personal conduct.
  • Ability to work alone and with others in a team environment with minimal supervision and maintain appropriate, respectful interrelationships with co-workers.
  • Ability to provide public access to or maintain confidentiality of department information/records according to state requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with preparing for court hearings, including printing court calendar from computer.
  • Scans court entries into the computer system.
  • Picks up and delivers mail throughout courthouse.
  • Performs duties of Receptionist in his/her absence and assist other Court Staff as assigned or as needed.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
