About The Position

The position is responsible for performing receptionist and general clerical duties within the State's Attorney's Office. This includes answering telephone calls, greeting visitors, and referring them to the appropriate individuals or departments. The role also involves receiving and distributing incoming mail, providing assistance to police departments and other governmental agencies, and maintaining general file organization. Additional responsibilities include data entry, typing and filing various legal documents, and assisting different office divisions as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Answer telephone calls and greet visitors, referring them to the appropriate individual or department.
  • Receive and distribute incoming mail as directed.
  • Provide assistance and information to police departments and other governmental agencies.
  • Perform general file maintenance and organization, including opening and closing files, photocopying, and scanning.
  • Prepare discovery and files for various dockets.
  • Perform data entry duties as directed.
  • Type and file various pleadings and correspondence, including legal documents such as Informations, Indictments, and subpoenas.
  • Provide general assistance to various office divisions, including attorneys and administrative staff.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in word processing, data, legal, and case management software.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
