About The Position

The Clerk to the Board Coordinator serves as a representative of the ex-officio Clerk to the Board, primarily responsible for administrative duties related to the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC). This role ensures compliance with internal controls and accurate reporting of outcomes, while processing various license applications and property valuation appeals.

Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant experience in administrative support or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Colorado liquor and medical marijuana licensing processes and regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to draft and edit documents accurately and professionally.
  • Proficient in using database applications, spreadsheets, and statistical reports.

  • Experience in a government or public sector environment.
  • Familiarity with Board meeting procedures and documentation.
  • Technical support skills for software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Draft agendas for BoCC meetings and coordinate items with County officials and departments.
  • Attend Board meetings, recording proceedings and registering votes cast by each Commissioner.
  • Record draft minutes of Board meetings and prepare hearing results for posting on the El Paso County website.
  • Prepare and finalize resolutions of the BoCC and correspond with County departments as directed.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding liquor and medical marijuana license processing.
  • Administer Colorado Beer and Liquor Codes, including processing liquor license renewals and new applications.
  • Track the status of applications and manage associated fees.
  • Correspond with the State Liquor Enforcement Division and the El Paso County Sheriff's Office as assigned.
  • Assist in preparing hearing correspondence for tax abatement petitions.
  • Draft and maintain complex database applications, spreadsheets, and reports.
  • Participate in special projects and assist with documentation development and training protocols.
  • Prepare for Board of Equalization (BOE) season as directed.
  • Proofread and edit correspondence, reports, and other documents as directed.
  • Research projects using manual and electronic systems as needed.
  • Duplicate audio/visual meeting media and provide information as requested.
  • Screen and route public inquiries to various department operations.
  • Post sunshine notices to the website for County Boards and Commissions.
  • Distribute and maintain Special District notices/files as required.
  • Provide information verbally and in writing, and assist with County-wide events as directed.
  • Assist with election duties as required.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with a salary range of $44,020 - $63,850 annually.
  • Regular work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
