About The Position

Memorial Community Hospital, located in Blair, Nebraska is seeking an Emergency Department Clerk Tech. The Emergency Department Clerk Tech plays a key role in patient registration and care, supporting both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced environment. This position is ideal for CNAs or EMTs licensed in Nebraska, offering hands-on patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. With responsibilities ranging from data entry and supply management to direct patient care, the role is essential to delivering efficient, compassionate emergency care. Schedule: This position may be filled by one individual covering both shifts or two separate individuals-one for days and one for nights.Night Shift: Wednesdays, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM Day Shift: One weekend day per week (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on a rotating 3 week schedule) 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Nebraska CNA or EMT license.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Strong data entry and patient interaction skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple patients.
  • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with EMR systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and care tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Register and admit patients accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain ED patient logs and data entry.
  • Assist with patient care under RN supervision.
  • Manage ED charts and documentation.
  • Greet and direct patients, visitors, and staff professionally.
  • Maintain inventory and disinfect patient rooms per infection control guidelines.
  • Support lab specimen delivery and other logistical tasks.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care and performance improvement initiatives.
