About The Position

The Clerk-Retail Inventory Control is responsible for receiving deliveries of products from all DSD vendors and verifying the accuracy of invoices. This role operates the receiving system according to Company and Division policies while maintaining a good rapport with vendors. The position champions customer service programs to meet or exceed Division customer service goals and promotes Albertson's philosophy of personalized service. The clerk receives all deliveries, logs them into the computer, and ensures cost, quality, and inventory controls through verifying orders against invoices. The role also involves reconciling vendor invoices, maintaining invoices and reports, and ensuring the security, sanitation, and organization of the receiving, storage, and loading dock areas. The clerk may also perform training duties and operate related equipment such as hand trucks and power lifts.

Requirements

• Ability to be friendly, courteous, and tactful.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to approximately 80 lbs.
• Ability to operate related equipment such as power lifts and balers.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics and company policies regarding inventory control.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Champions Company and Division customer service programs.
• Receives all deliveries and logs them into the computer.
• Verifies orders against invoices and audits product contents.
• Reconciles vendor invoices to costs on the computer system.
• Maintains invoices and reports in the established filing system.
• Prevents shrink, damage, and spoilage of product.
• Responsible for the security, sanitation, and organization of the receiving area.
• Operates related equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks.
• Performs training duties as needed.
