Performs general clerical and receptionist duties supporting the patient care unit, including preparing, compiling and maintaining records in nursing unit. Job Responsibility Greets, interviews and registers patients or their representative. Verifies patient, guarantor, subscriber and insurance information and enters same into department computer system. Completes required forms for patient registration. Obtains, secures and witnesses required consents/signatures. Provides information regarding Advance Directives, Patient Bill of Rights and Notice of Privacy Practices. Completes questionnaire regarding Advance Directives for the patient's medical record. Attaches vouchers to lab specimens and arranges transport to lab, as required. Performs final chart review, incorporates loose sheets and ensures that the entire chart assembly is completed on discharge. Facilitates patient transfers to Emergency department, as required. Answers phones courteously, responds to requests for information, directs calls or takes messages, files, photocopies, faxes information, maintains bulletin boards, etc. Performs receptionist duties for clinic. Reviews and maintains daily attendance log. Informs clinical team member of pending appointments Photocopies and maintains supply of pertinent forms specific to unit. Reports all equipment needing repair and initiates work orders. Performs related duties as required. ADA Essential Functions
