About The Position

The Nutrition services Receiving Clerk receives, stores, rotates, and inspects all food and supplies, signs all invoices, completes cycle counts and inventory, requisitions out floor stock, and fills stock requests for various areas of the department, including off site facilities. This position is responsible for the sanitation and organization of the dry food storage, walk-in refrigerators and freezers, not limited to any area directly outside of the storeroom and/or loading dock.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma / GED
  • SERV Safe certified within 60 days of first day

  • 2+ year of restaurant/hospitality experience

Responsibilities

  • Examines shipment contents and compares with records such as driver manifest, invoice, and/or orders for accuracy
  • Records shipment data for recordkeeping purposes
  • Prepares orders to be shipped out, when necessary
  • Place orders on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain US Foods ordering website, ensuring that VDA's and preferred items are prioritized.
  • Works with the purchasing coordinator to ensure correct food and supplies are being ordered.
  • Conduct storeroom audits on a weekly basis.
  • Communicate with management team any shortages, issues, or concerns regarding order.
  • Delivers materials to internal and external customers.
  • Fill all requisitions as assigned.
  • Put away all deliveries within one hour of being received.
  • Ensure that all food items are labeled and dated when received.
  • Communicate with Operations Managers on any leftover product, or excess items that need to be run out, on a monthly basis.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment and all storage areas.
  • Ensure Nutrition Services Vans are in proper working order (clean) at all times.
  • Communicate directly with Nutrition Services management on any and all issues.
  • Ensure all HACCP/Sanitation paperwork is completed and turned in before the shift is completed.
  • Take temperatures of the food when received to ensure it is at minimum standards.
  • Ensure cleaning lists are completed and turned in after each shift.
  • Tabulate bills using cash registers and price scanners.
  • Stock shelves, including condiments and utensils.
  • Assist new employees.
  • Ensures sanitation standards are being met on a daily basis including labeling, dating, FIFO, and ensuring VDH regulations are being adhered to
  • May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time.
