Requirements

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• Adequate amount of actual phlebotomy experience in either a hospital setting, outpatient drawing station, or a high volume doctor's office.
• Good computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Medical Assistant or phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and related procedures under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and the laboratory.
• Work independently in the lab with little to no supervision.
• Serve as a super user for the department's main Laboratory Information System (LIS), ensuring the system functions to departmental standards.
• Report potential problems and issues with the LIS.
• Test functionality during upgrades to resolve potential problems.
