The Clerk/Phlebotomist position is a part-time role that requires working during the night shift, specifically every third weekend. The primary responsibilities include drawing blood through capillary or venipuncture methods, labeling tubes correctly, and delivering them to the laboratory in accordance with established policies and procedures. The role also involves maintaining order, monitoring, and organizing the workload in collaboration with phlebotomy staff and other hospital personnel. Additional duties include performing front office responsibilities, processing extra tubes, centrifuging, and ensuring proper storage of specimens. The Clerk/Phlebotomist will also load specimens onto the Roche Modular Pre-Analytics (MPA) system, answer telephones, and respond to inquiries from hospital personnel and visitors. Participation in training procedures as directed by the supervisor is also expected.
