About The Position

The position involves maintaining a work environment that is conducive to efficient unit operation. The individual will be responsible for keeping accurate and complete records, charts, files, and managing unit supplies effectively.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Certificate of successful completion of a course in Clerk-Nursing or comparable education and/or experience
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Red Cross Certification

Responsibilities

• Completes work assignments during scheduled time period while maintaining a work environment conducive to efficient unit operation
• Maintains current inventory of unit supplies and equipment, accepting responsibility for reordering supplies in anticipation of unit needs
• Facilitates the resolution of identified problems through factual documentation and reporting
• Maintains accurate and complete records, charts, files including admission/discharge charts, patient records, past records, current chart copies of Ancillary Service reports, and surgical charts
• Accurately enters orders into the computer system
• Utilizes computer system according to established guidelines and procedures, including attending required classes and demonstrating competence in all computer applications
• Assists with distribution and posting of reports and forms
• Identifies and reports hardware/software problems to appropriate resource persons
• Adheres to established emergency and disaster procedures
• Demonstrates competency and knowledge in the utilization of specified equipment
• Demonstrates competency and knowledge in performing basic and specified skills
• Assumes responsibility for obtaining current accurate information and expanding knowledge base through utilization of appropriate learning experiences
• Assists in maintaining a safe unit environment
• Consistently demonstrates Bay Pride behaviors
• Complies with Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals
• Participates in performance improvement activities
• Performs other related duties as required and directed
