About The Position

The Seasonal Clerk II position is a full-time, on-site role focused on assisting with the tax filing season for approximately 2-3 months starting in March. The role involves processing inbound mail, sorting documents, and performing data entry tasks to support the Department of Revenue's mission of efficient fiscal management and tax collection.

Requirements

  • At least one year of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office work.
  • A diploma from a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school may substitute for the required experience.
  • A diploma from a course other than the commercial or business course of a recognized high school or vocational/technical high school or possession of a Massachusetts high school equivalency certificate may substitute for a maximum of eight months of the required experience.
  • A diploma for completion of a program in a recognized non-degree granting business or secretarial school above the high school level may substitute for the required experience.
  • An Associate's or higher degree may be substituted for the required experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic computer skills and general knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

  • Slice all incoming mail to the Processing Division on the Omation slicing machines.
  • Sort all inbound mail directed to the Processing Division.
  • Extract all documents from envelopes and sort accordingly by category.
  • Batch and prepare all incoming documents for scanning.
  • Scan batches on IBML scanners.
  • Key various returns on Fairfax and Genisys online systems.
  • Assist in all Processing duties based on operational needs and goals set by the department.
