The Clerk G3 (On-Call) position at Kaiser Permanente involves providing essential reception and administrative support within the Health Education Department. The primary responsibilities include managing the front desk, which encompasses answering phones, booking appointments, and setting up classes for patients. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive timely care and assistance, as it involves working closely with clinical staff to expedite care for patients referred for appointments and classes. The clerk will also assist members with kp.org, collect and review Life Care Planning forms, and make reminder calls for appointments. In the event of staff illness or unexpected absence, the clerk is responsible for canceling appointments and booking initial and follow-up appointments as necessary. Additionally, the clerk will register all patients from the previous day as needed, focusing on providing excellent service to both members and other Medical Center staff. In terms of administrative functions, the clerk will handle incoming and outgoing departmental mail, collect and record daily statistical information, and call patients to fill available appointments. The role also includes providing general support to the Director, Supervisors, and clinical staff with various projects and problems as requested. Other duties may be assigned as needed, including those outlined in the generic position description for a cashier-receptionist. This position requires a commitment to excellent customer service and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. The clerk may also be required to work across different medical center facilities within the same service area, emphasizing the need for flexibility and adaptability in this role.
