Requirements

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

  • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Interact professionally with patients and families, treating them with respect and dignity.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence.
  • Maintain accurate documentation that meets current standards and policies.
  • Perform clerical and computer functions to support patient care delivery.
  • Answer the telephone professionally, take messages, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Register patients using sign-in sheets and provide new patients with medical forms.
  • Coordinate daily patient flow activities.
  • Verify patient demographic, employment, and insurance information.
  • Explain billing policies, collect co-payments/self-payments, and provide receipts.
  • Schedule new and return appointments, explaining the registration process to new patients.
  • Photocopy, fax, and scan information as requested by staff.
