Position Summary: Performs moderately complex clerical functions to ensure the efficient operation of the department or office. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Perform general office duties including faxing, copying, scanning and filing. Answers and directs phone calls. Handle incoming and outgoing office correspondence. Prepares memos and emails Updates and maintains databases. Compiles reports using established formats and procedures. Prepare meeting agendas; attend meetings and prepare meeting minutes. Communicate with customers and staff to answer questions. Troubleshoot problems that arise with office equipment. Performs other related duties as required and directed. Functions and Responsibilities for Imaging Dept: Schedules appointments. Maintains departmental paperwork (i.e. daily logs, records, charges) Coordinates scheduling within departments for patient convenience and optimum procedure flow. Retrieves old films and digitizes films/reports in PACS system. Prepares coding of film jackets. Uses the computer system to obtain necessary patient information. Processes reports for filing, charting and physician billing. Assists physicians in locating radiographic films, files and reports. Prepares film release form. Copies and releases films per policy. Communicates results of procedures via fax, mail or courier. Maintains patient reports, film jackets and patient exam history file. Stock and maintain workstation supplies. Assist in the training of new personnel. Can be utilized in other departments at discretion of manager. Annual attendance in CPR certification. Assist technologists as assigned. Assists in the transport patients to and from the Emergency Department as assigned. Assist in transferring patients on and off of the cart when necessary. Recognize when others are in need of assistance and consistently offer to help when own workload permits. Greet all patients, family and visitors and assists in addressing questions, concerns, etc. Assures organization of appropriate paperwork, packaging of current exam, obtain prior films, etc. on each patient to facilitate timely interpretation of examination. Assist in obtaining patient history, prior to examination and technologist review, when time permits. Calls for transportation of inpatients to and from the department. Assists physician and other personnel with questions, ordering of exams, locating patient or films, etc. Performs other related job duties as requested.
