About The Position

The Clerical Associate at Eagerton Family Practice is responsible for handling all incoming communications and ensuring reliable, consistent coverage for phones. The role involves assisting patients in signing up for MyChart and encouraging its use as the main form of communication with McLeod Health. The associate coordinates and schedules all appointments, whether in the office or at the hospital surgery center, and manages the expectations of all same-day appointments. Responsibilities also include confirming and following up on all communications, addressing messages, mail, faxes, and incoming communications, and preparing for upcoming visits by completing pre-registration functions. The associate collects payments at the time of services rendered and acts as a liaison between patients and the billing office for detailed questions. The role requires maintaining a paperless work environment and regularly updating patient registries in EPIC. The associate supports team members by handling key administrative duties and actively participates in quality improvement processes while maintaining patient confidentiality.

  • Identifies patients on a payment plan and refers them to a financial counselor or MyChart for arrangements.
  • Maintains a paperless, neat, and clutter-free work environment.
  • Regularly updates patient registries in EPIC.
  • Supports team members by handling key administrative duties.
  • Participates in the care team and quality improvement processes.
  • Maintains confidentiality in patient interactions.
