Responsibilities
- Answers phones, patient calls, takes messages, and refers questions and answers to the appropriate individual.
- Maintains unit supply of forms and prepares appropriate packets and information for admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
- Monitors and order supplies
- Performs computer-based functions including admission, transfer, and discharge including making follow-up appointments.
- Provides clerical support to the timely delivery of patient care.
- Serves as a customer service representative, receptionist, and liaison among patient, family, staff, and medical staff.
- Supports relationship based care by providing compassionate, holistic care to patients, family, and co-workers and promoting a safe, caring, and healing environment.
- Tracks and monitors the locations of all patients, and facilitates the movement of the patient from one care modality to the next, may sit with patients at times.
