About The Position

The Clerical-Administrative position at Bolivar Medical Center involves performing a range of clerical duties to support the operations of the medical clinic. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a hospital/clinic office setting preferred.
  • Medical Billing experience preferred.
  • Successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements.
  • Ability to maintain high customer satisfaction and teamwork.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient time management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a stressful environment.
  • Flexibility to work as needed for departmental coverage.
  • Proficient computer knowledge.
  • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
  • Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Interact professionally with patients and families, treating them with respect and dignity.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, family members, and co-workers.
  • Maintain accurate documentation that meets current standards and policies.
  • Perform clerical and computer functions to support patient care delivery.
  • Answer the telephone professionally, take messages, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Register patients using sign-in sheets and provide medical forms to new patients.
  • Coordinate daily patient flow activities.
  • Verify patient demographic, employment, and insurance information.
  • Explain billing policies, collect co-payments/self-payments, and provide receipts.
  • Schedule new and return appointments and explain the registration process.
  • Photocopy, fax, and scan information as requested by staff.
