Northstrat is seeking an experienced and driven Software Developer to join our dynamic prototype solution team. The Software Developer will support the agile development of modern software solutions that support the future Enterprise Systems Integration of space-to-ground systems for the National Customer. The ideal candidate will have experience in applying best practices with Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and full-stack software development experience implementing mission software capabilities and features. This role demands a self-starter who can take loosely defined tasks and support the development team to deliver high-quality solutions.

  • Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable, and high-performance software applications to meet mission needs.
  • Collaborate with development team to define, design, and implement features and capabilities.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies throughout software development lifecycle.
  • Support the entire product lifecycle, including but not limited to design, implementation, integration, test, deployment.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving of software issues, bugs, and discrepancies.
  • Must have an active or current Top-Secret clearance with SCI access and polygraph (TS/SCI with poly).
  • Privileged User eligibility (Security+ Certification or Customer accepted equivalent).
  • A bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Must have at least 5+ years of relevant experience to job summary and key responsibilities.
  • Java or C++ software engineering experience developing and implementing mission software capabilities in modern software technology stack and applying agile development best practices are required.
  • Experience in conducting design and development activities to build, integrate, test, and deploy incremental capabilities to meet Customer requirements within a DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline.
  • Experience in building, implementing, and maintaining Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, in accordance with Platform as a Service (PaaS) Provider Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Experience in providing software design and development expertise in support of new application development, using iterative methodologies such as behavior driven development (BDD) and test driven development (TDD), and working with teammates to execute deliveries.
  • Experience with containerization of software solutions.
  • Experience with software configuration management (CM) processes and tools.
  • Experience with automated test frameworks (Cucumber and/or Cypress).
  • Experience in User Interface/User Experience (UI/UX) design and implementation with user engagement feedback.
  • Experience with Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence, Zephyr.
  • Experience in collaborating and interacting with geographically disperse teammates and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Linux environments and command line.
  • Experience with agile software development practices (scrum and/or Kanban).
  • Familiarity in creating or supporting cybersecurity Body of Evidence (BOE) artifacts in order to receive Customer Interim Authorization to Test (IATT) and Authorization to Operation (ATO).
  • Familiarity with Customer’s Enterprise Framework for the integration and acceptance of delivered products and capabilities to the Product Baseline (Operational Baseline).
  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies, and guidance.
  • Knowledge of space-to-ground systems, architecture, and interfaces.
  • Knowledge of Command and Control (C2) systems.
  • Knowledge of Mission Management (MM) systems.
  • Flex Time: Northstrat does not mandate specific working hours. Although project requirements may dictate schedules, a Northstrat employee is only required to work an average of 8 hours per weekday over the course of a month.
