About The Position

We are seeking a Cleared Software Engineer with at least 2 years of professional C++ development experience to support mission-critical software development efforts in a DOD or high-reliability manufacturing environment. This role will work fully onsite in Owego, NY, contributing to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of embedded or system-level software used in defense or advanced manufacturing applications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience working in regulated, structured environments and is comfortable collaborating closely with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of professional C++ development experience
  • Experience working in a DOD, defense contractor, or manufacturing environment
  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance (Secret or higher preferred)
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design and debugging
  • Ability to work fully onsite in Owego, NY

  • Experience with embedded systems or real-time software development

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using C++
  • Support software development efforts for DOD programs or manufacturing systems, following established engineering and security standards
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and documentation
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, manufacturing, and test engineers to integrate software with complex systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation in accordance with program and compliance requirements
  • Support software verification, validation, and configuration management activities
  • Adhere to security, safety, and quality standards required for cleared environments
