SMX is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst to join our team. This role focuses on creating and maintaining efficient data processing systems and pipelines to support strategic decision-making and business operations. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable back-end data solutions. This is a full-time position requiring on-site work five days a week at a client’s office in Washington, D.C. An active Top Secret clearance is mandatory.

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, integrating data from various sources to ensure reliable and efficient processing.
  • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes using tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, Informatica, or similar technologies.
  • Manage and optimize database operations, leveraging SQL and working with modern data warehousing platforms such as AWS Redshift.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into robust back-end solutions.
  • Create scalable and efficient data architectures, ensuring performance optimization and data integrity.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of data processes to maintain high data quality and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
  • Document data processes, workflows, and solutions for knowledge sharing and team collaboration.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and development.
  • Proficiency in SQL and a strong understanding of database systems.
  • Experience with ETL and data orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, or Informatica.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, particularly AWS.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and data integration techniques.
  • Strong understanding of data processing and performance optimization.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Business Analytics.
  • 2+ years experience working as a data analyst.
