About The Position

This role is part of a mission critical directorate where you will have significant impact on Mission (pointy end of spear). Due to the priority of this funded and sole-sourced opportunity, we are offering up to a $20k signing bonus and the top 5% of the current market pay scale to support the right hire! The Data Engineer will design, develop, code, test, and debug complex new software products, or make significant enhancements to existing software. The ideal candidate is a hands-on platform builder with significant experience in developing scalable data platforms, with experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science and data products. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of configuration management and big data technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust scalable solutions that can manage large data sets. They must be at ease working in an agile environment with little supervision. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation. The focus of work for this position will be web development and system front end.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
  • Over 5 years of hands-on Pentaho experience.
  • Over 2 years of software development experience in JavaScript, Python, PySpark, or other object-oriented development languages.
  • Minimum 5 years of solid Pentaho-specific ETL development experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of Python and Pyspark experience.
  • 3 or more years of development within the CIA or NSA environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to create customized Pentaho components using Java.
