About The Position

Our consultants on the Defense & Security AI & Data team help clients maximize the value of their data and automate business processes. This high performing team works with clients to implement the full spectrum of data analytics and data science, from data querying and wrangling to data engineering, to data visualization, dashboarding, and business intelligence (BI). Our services enable our clients to define their information strategy, enable mission critical insights and data-driven decision making, reduce cost and complexity, increase trust, and improve operational effectiveness. The position will be supporting the Chief Information Security Officer with the development of Data Quality monitoring tools for the State Department’s Master User Record (MUR) Zero Trust Cybersecurity effort. Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines in Python, including new scripts for data quality, performance, and health scoring. Optimize data workflows for scalability, performance, and cost across batch and streaming processes. Implement and automate data quality rules, checks, and monitoring Identity Management attributes. Monitor data freshness, completeness, quality, and pipeline health; investigate and resolve incidents. Document data lineage, schema changes, and transformations; support schema evolution. Maintain clear documentation and collaborate with governance, analytics, and application teams; participate in code reviews.

Requirements

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "SECRET" Federal or DoD security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • THREE (3) or more years of experience in data engineering, data analysis or data science OR 2 years of data engineering, data analysis or data science experience with a Master's degree
  • Experience in Python, SQ, Splunk and Databricks.
  • Experience with Tableau dashboard development
  • Ability to support on-site and hybrid projects in the DC metro area

  • Competencies in IT Risk and/or Cyber domains
  • Experience leading data driven analytic activities involving the identification of key indicators for both compliance and effectiveness critical to mission/business success
  • Experience manipulating large data sets and using them to identify trends and reach meaningful conclusions to inform strategic business decisions
  • Ability to design data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models, as well as perform custom analysis
  • Quality control experience including debugging and conducting Quality Assurance of new features and enhancements
  • Ability to clean, aggregate, organize data from multiple sources and transfer this information to data warehouses
  • Ability to define data requirements and ensure storage, availability, and coherence of electronically stored information to guarantee it meets the organization's needs
  • Competency in data mining, including structuring of raw data to formulate or recognize patterns to generate new information and unlock information and insights that help the organization better manage risks
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and present topics to diverse groups of functional and technical staff
  • Experience developing new and re-designing existing processes to meet new and/or evolving business requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
