About The Position

Segers Aero Corporation located in Fairhope, AL is seeking an Aircraft Cleaning Technician to work 2nd shift (four 10-hour days, Monday - Thursday from 2pm until 12pm with paid lunch). Purpose of Position: To clean parts and components for Segers Aero Corporation customer aircraft and engine, engine accessories and propellers. This position may work with hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals and products to perform required tasks. The position is considered safety-sensitive in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations, and as such, the position is subject to drug and alcohol testing per DOT FAA regulations.

Requirements

Must be proficient in using a variety of hand tools, special tools, and GSE required to perform assigned maintenance tasks
Must be able to work with little or no supervisor and to take initiative.
Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors
Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations
Must be able to apply common sense
Must be able to effectively read, write and communicate in English
Must be proficient in company specific software and Microsoft Office Word and Excel
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using fractions and decimals; compute percentages, ratios, rates and interpret graphs
Must be able to comply with OSHA requirements and standards to properly wear all applicable PPE
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly and more, with assistance occasionally
Must be able to see within normal range of vision with or without corrective lenses
Must be able to hear running machinery
Must be able to use hands, wrists, and fingers repetitively
Must have exceptional eye-hand coordination
Must regularly be able to reach overhead
Must be able to stand, walk, reach overhead, squat, bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and climb stairs as needed.
Must be able to walk around regularly using steps occasionally
Ability to provide verifications of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions
Must be at least 18 years or older and a High School Diploma or GED is required.
One year of mechanical-based work experience in the aviation, industrial, mechanical, construction, or maintenance industry is required.
Must pass a criminal background check and DOT FAA pre-employment drug screen and comply with all FAA regulations.

Nice To Haves

Experience cleaning mechanical parts and or components is preferred.

Responsibilities

Cleans aviation parts with PRF680(mineral spirit), glass and plastic bead
Prepares for painting by cleaning, stripping, sanding, or chemically treating if needed
Preps accessory parts (clean, tape, aluminum prep, alodine) for paint
Cleans prep area before, after, and during operations
Maintains a clean workstation free from Foreign Object and or Debris (FOD), ensures tooling is properly stored
Maintains a clean/safe workspace free from spills or obstructions which may lead to harm
Properly disposes of excess materials throughout the operation
Works in accordance with applicable FAR’s, bulletins, maintenance manuals and acceptable practices
Must be able to performs duties with little or no supervision
Works to production schedule as directed by manager/lead
Must read routing tags/sheets/traveler and follow directives
Travels as required
Confers with manager/lead to recommend changes such as: equipment utilization, production methods and procedures to increase efficiency of the department and promote improvement
Attends all safety and health training, as required, in a timely manner
Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
Works overtime as needed
Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
