About The Position

The Cleaning Supervisor assists the Janitorial Manager in the completion of their managerial duties and directly oversees custodians on three shifts in a manufacturing environment. This position will act as the onsite supervisor for all custodial/janitorial functions at the site. The successful candidate will comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures, perform work assignments in a team with other employees, maintain a clean work area, follow all company procedures, policies, and rules, take direction and respond to supervision, communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers, use proper personal protective equipment, present a professional appearance and conduct, understand customer service and satisfaction, understand reporting systems and the environment, and instill trust. A solid commitment to the guest experience and always remembering safety first are crucial. The role involves building respectful relationships with all teammates and guests, willingness to take directions from the Facility Manager, Key Account Manager, or District Manager, coordinating activities with other internal departments, and participating in management team meetings.

Requirements

Must have (5) five years of experience in a janitorial position with a Facilities Maintenance/Janitorial Services firm
Must have at least (1) year previous supervisory experience
Must be able to provide “hands on” oversight and direction to custodial team of up to 5 members per shift
Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
Must be able to clear/satisfy all background checks and other security requirements for obtaining clearance to the facility at which work is to be performed
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Must be able to communicate effectively with subordinates, customer representatives and upper management
Must be proficient at performing administrative tasks associated with the direction of the above referenced workforce, scheduling, and completion of work to be performed
Must be able to demonstrate good judgment and the ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
Must be available to work weekends and holidays if needed

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a union environment preferred
Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred)

Responsibilities

Provides direction and oversight of union custodial workforce at assigned site
Schedules employees and work to be performed according to site needs
Follow all safety rules and guidelines
Direct special cleaning projects
Communicate with tenant/customers in a professional manner
Continually inspect quality levels and retrain staff as needed to maintain quality of service for customer
Inventory supplies/materials on hand as directed by Janitorial Manager
Review and ensure accurate time keeping records of all employees and process payroll for employees
Disciplines employees in partnership with the Janitorial Manager
Other duties as assigned
Ensures completion of janitorial work and all administrative tasks associated with the performance of the work including but not limited to progress reports, incident reports, safety reports, staffing reports, time sheet/payroll reports etc.
