Perform the general cleaning and sanitizing of all specified areas throughout the hospital, using proper cleaning guidelines and procedures as dictated by Environmental Services Management. Maintain confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information. Comply with Network and departmental policies regarding issues of employee, patient and environmental safety and follow appropriate reporting requirements. Demonstrate the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal and external). Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Customer/Service and Safety. Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding attendance. Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding the dress code. Uses appropriate cleaning supplies according to departmental procedures. Uses safe and proper cleaning procedures to prepare patient rooms, beds, stretchers, and other assigned areas in a timely and efficient manner. Cleans interior glass and dusts and polishes furniture. Cleans glass interior windows, woodwork, toilets, washrooms and fixtures. Clean bathrooms including floors and walls. Clean and maintain ice machine. Ability to follow all applicable schedules, sanitation and safety requirements. Attends 85% of Environmental Services monthly staff meetings. Complies with annual employee TB testing within specified time. Complies with mandatory network flu shot policy. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Assists in project work, including moves and set-ups as specified by department management. Keeps housekeeping closet and equipment in area of responsibility clean and in order. Maintain daily records of all work performed in accordance with departmental policies and procedures (Daily log sheet). Other related duties as assigned by department management, including the ability to climb a ladder as needed. Subject to on call status for all hospital and departmental emergencies.
