About The Position
DISTNGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS : Performs routine cleaning tasks. This is routine manual work calling for the performance of simple cleaning duties. Work is usually performed under the immediate supervision of a Head Custodian/Custodian who assigns the tasks and frequently inspects them when completed. Does related work as required. EXAMPLES OF WORK : (Illustrative only) Sweeps and mops floors; sweeps outside areas, rakes leave, picks up papers; Washes windows and polishes floors; High and low dusts woodwork, furniture and other articles; Replenishes lavatory supplies; helps with supply deliveries within school; Cleans lavatories; Participates in snow removal on sidewalks and walkways;
Requirements
- Some knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to read and write English
- Willingness to perform janitorial tasks

- Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position
