The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has a full-time opportunity available for a Cleaner Air Oregon New Source Project Manager and Technical Assistance Coordinator (Natural Resource Specialist 4) in Portland, Oregon. The Air Quality Division is responsible for collecting environmental information, analyzing environmental information, and developing sound and effective environmental strategies. The Division ensures that the technical and scientific expertise is available to inform and carry out these responsibilities. In partnership with others, the Division takes a comprehensive and holistic view of environmental impacts and seeks to create solutions that enable actions that can reduce those impacts. The goal of the Air Quality Division is to ensure clean and healthy air for all Oregonians. The Cleaner Air Oregon program is primarily responsible for the implementation, support, and coordination of a toxic air contaminant industrial permitting program in coordination with regional offices, including ongoing risk assessments, policy and guidance development, training and education, rule and statute revisions, performance monitoring, and oversight of compliance with the program. This section has the lead responsibility to ensure the accurate identification, assessment, and reduction of toxic air contaminant emissions using health-based standards. This program is responsible for supporting the completion of risk assessments and the determination of permitting and reporting requirements for sources assessed under program rules.
