About The Position

The Clean Room Technician will apply knowledge of hoses, piping, valves, gauges, relief valves, and other items as they pertain to an oxygen rich environment. Maintain qualifications to clean components and systems to prescribed standards. Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures as it pertains to calibration of items with a Clean Laboratory. Perform corrective actions to address identified measurement problems. Adapt equipment, standards, and procedures to accomplish unique measurements inside and outside the Lab environment. Maintain calibration standards. Perform laboratory and/or departmental housekeeping.

Requirements

  • Civilian or military training with a working knowledge or demonstrated capacity to comprehend metrology or
  • Military precision measurement equipment laboratory (PMEL) experience or
  • Experience in calibration and metrology for the oil and gas, energy or related industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to recognize problems through troubleshooting and determine solution
  • Ability to determine tools and equipment needed to complete a job
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening test
  • Approved hard hat when required
  • Approved, safety-toe shoes when required
  • Insulated and protector gloves when required
  • Eye protection
  • Hearing protection
  • Non-conductive PPE in required areas and locations
  • Protective clothing (job task specific)
  • Electrical safety requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes weighing up to 50lbs up to 8-10 hours per day.
  • Ability to work on and climb ladders and stairs frequently.
  • Bending/squatting/kneeling/stooping/crouching/crawling/twisting up and walking up to 8-10 hours per day.
  • Standing- must be able to stand or sit in one place up to 8-10 hours per day.
  • Hearing-periodically must be able to work in loud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Precision Cleaning, rinsing, and drying components (valves, pipes, gauges) in controlled environments.
  • Contaminant Removal of combustible substances such as oils, dust, sand, and fibers that can trigger ignition in high-pressure or high-concentration oxygen environments.
  • Disassembling, inspecting, repair, and reassembling oxygen systems, including regulators and cylinders, using specialized tools.
  • Utilizing verification techniques to ensure parts meet safety criteria.
  • Bagging and labeling components to maintain "oxygen clean" status before installation
  • Adhering to strict safety protocols to prevent oxygen-enriched atmospheres from becoming flammable.
  • Calibrate inspecting, measuring, and testing equipment (IM & TE) in order to ensure compliance with published specifications in one of the following disciplines: electrical, dimensional, optical, physical/mechanical and chemical.
  • Maintain primary and/or intrinsic calibration standards
  • Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards
  • Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibration
  • Analyze measurement data for identifying abnormalities trends and/or predicting future values
  • Identifying IM & TE out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc.
  • Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable
  • Prepare calibration reports and certificates
  • Insure clean room is clean and organized following proper 5(S) housekeeping procedures
  • Perform lab housekeeping
  • Maintain laboratory recognition/accreditation
  • Operate various lab instruments
