The Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) team at the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is seeking a community engagement professional to join the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) team to implement PCEF's community engagement efforts. This position will help shape engagement with community partners and PCEF's Advisory Bodies. This work will strengthen PCEF's commitment to accessibility, inclusivity, and equity. As a Community Engagement Coordinator, you will: * Develop strategies and activities that support the full spectrum of community engagement to deliver on PCEF's project and program goals from the Climate Investment Plan while centering engagement from priority populations (communities of color, low-income, and people with disabilities). * Lead establishment, management support, and at times facilitation of various PCEF advisory bodies in coordination with program staff and advisory body liaisons. * Implement best practices for PCEF's advisory bodies to facilitate meaningful engagement and impactful partnerships with diverse communities and sectors. * Collaborate with internal City staff and external stakeholders on deliverables such as advisory body recruitments, surveys, online/in-person open houses, event invitations, relevant web content, flyers, and newsletters. * Network with community stakeholders, grantees, potential grantees, and subject-matter experts strategically through virtual or in-person public meetings, community listening sessions, grantee convenings, workgroup meetings, briefings and presentations, or digital engagement activities. * Interpret community input and policy implications, and process public feedback into actionable insights for programming and decision-making. * Manage consultant contracts ensuring compliance with contract terms, timelines, and deliverables. * Foster community relations and collaboration with a focus on individuals and organizations from PCEF priority populations. * Coordinate with internal and external subject matter experts to develop materials that are culturally and linguistically accessible for priority populations. * Evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement strategies and partnerships based on preset goals and outcomes.

  • Proficiency in a second language.
