Teacher - Middle School Summer Tiger Academy 2026
About The Position
Students are invited to join Summer Tiger Academy based on need for reading interventions. The Summer Tiger Academy team with run diagnostics with students, group them into like student instructional needs, and provide matching reading interventions for the teacher to facilitate with the group. The Summer Tiger Academy (Targeted Services) Teacher is responsible for developing a classroom culture of student love for and connectedness to school. The teacher will work to build a community within the classroom that includes strong relationships both teacher-to-student, and student-to-student. Social and emotional learning will be intentionally planned to work in parallel with academic learning and practice. Math games will also be used to increase student engagement and for practicing math and building number sense, but since students are grouped based on reading skill need, groups will include students with a range of mathematical abilities. Teachers will need to attend a training prior to Summer Tiger Academy to receive training on the reading intervention lessons. Teacher prep time is 8:00 AM -8:30 AM daily. Student contact time is 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM daily. Students will be supervised outside of the classroom before Summer Tiger Academy and for Pick up.
