About The Position

Mount St. Michael Catholic School (MSMCS) is a private Catholic Classical School within the Diocese of Dallas, accredited by TCCB ED. MSMCS has a Montessori program for 3k-5k and then transitions into a Classical school for 1st-8th grades. It is located in southwest Dallas on the property of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity. The mission is to form children in courageous virtue grounded in the truth of Christ: to reason clearly, to choose morally, and to serve faithfully. In anticipation of future openings, Mount St. Michael Catholic School is seeking interested, qualified teachers who are able to teach Pk3-8th Grade. The potential positions will be for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. The teacher plans, guides, and evaluates the learning process of students. This position reports to the principal and has decision-making responsibilities within the framework of school policies, philosophy, organization, and curriculum.

Requirements

  • The candidate will be a dedicated professional who understands the joys and demands of teaching, with at least two years’ teaching experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of the basic teachings of the Catholic Church
  • Knowledge of instructional methods/strategies and curriculum differentiation
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, learning, and behavior
  • Knowledge of the content and the methods of religious education
  • Knowledge of effective assessment methods
  • Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form
  • Able to work well with others in the school community
  • Able to work independently and self-motivate
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Skill in organizing and relating information in an understandable format
  • Skill in job appropriate technology
  • Skill in critical thinking and planning
  • Skill in managing conflicts effectively
  • Skill in organizational management and delegation of responsibilities
  • Skill in using group process skills effectively with various school communities
  • Bachelor's degree in subject taught or related field from an accredited American university, required
  • Must meet the minimum requirements for teaching field as set forth by the Diocese and TCCB ED.
  • Must meet staff development guidelines as set forth by the Diocese and school administration.
  • Must complete Religion Certification per the guidelines of the Catholic Schools Office and TCCB ED, if applicable.
  • All candidates must be able to pass background checks and comply with the Safe Environment Program.
  • Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be willing and open to understanding Catholic teachings, required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop daily lessons that meet the goals of the classes
  • Complete grading
  • Maintain an advisory group and lead advisory group meetings
  • Perform all basic administrative duties (ex. maintain attendance records, accurate grade book, comment writing)
