About The Position

Hawley Elementary School 29 Church Hill Rd Newtown, CT 06470 October 28, 2025 TITLE: Temporary Long-Term Classroom Teacher - First Grade STARTING DATE: ASAP-January 5, 2025 RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform those duties & responsibilities as described in the district's Teacher Job Description. REMUNERATION: $125.00 first 30 days, $274.47 the remainder of the assignment QUALIFICATIONS: Connecticut Certification. Love of children, strong background in early elementary education and the teaching of language arts and mathematics. Reflective learner having high expectations for his/her performance and that of students. Applied expertise in implementing an integrated language arts curriculum. Commitment to contributing to a community of learners. Ability to work and actively involve parents in the educational process. Understanding of, and experience in using technology in the classroom.
