About The Position

We're seeking a passionate and mission-driven Founding Science Teacher to join the team at ECPA. As a founding teacher, you will have the rare opportunity to help shape a school from the ground up-building classroom culture, academic systems, and traditions that will define the school community for years to come. Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher
Valid teaching certification (or eligibility in CT)
2-3 years of teaching experience with proven student achievement
Deep belief in educational equity and potential of all students
Commitment to culturally responsive, gender-relevant pedagogy
Desire to work in a founding, all-boys school environment

Nice To Haves

5+ years teaching experience, especially in high-expectations or urban settings
Experience in charter schools or founding school environments
Familiarity with single-gender education

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned lessons aligned with ECS and ECPA's deeper learning philosophy
Build strong student relationships to promote engagement and belonging
Differentiate instruction using data to meet diverse learning needs
Integrate culturally responsive and gender-relevant practices
Establish a joyful, structured classroom with high expectations and mutual respect
Reinforce ECPA's character model and leadership development focus
Partner with families to support student success
Participate in school events and extracurricular activities
Participate in regular coaching, planning, and team meetings
Collaborate to build a strong, high-performing adult culture
Share and receive feedback to improve instructional practice
Co-create systems, rituals, and enrichment experiences
Take ownership of school-wide initiatives and adapt in a dynamic start-up environment
Embrace feedback and model a growth mindset
