About The Position

Wilton High School is seeking a science teacher to teach chemistry, physical science and a science elective. The position will remain open until a candidate is found.

Requirements

  • Must have a CT appropriate CT certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Current State Certification in appropriate content area.
  • Master's Degree is highly recommended.
  • Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and adjust instruction for a diverse group of students in the appropriate content area.
  • Demonstrate compassion and caring for students, families, and colleagues.

  • Analyze multiple forms of assessment data and adapt instruction accordingly.
  • Engage with colleagues to reflect on practice and make refinements to instruction, assessment, and lesson design.
  • Implement district-approved curriculum.
  • Maintain appropriate records of student attendance and progress; prepare report cards, interim and final grades as appropriate.
  • Participate in regular meetings including staff meetings, IET meetings, department and/or grade level meetings, and district meetings.
  • Provide supervision in activities both in and out of the classroom during the regular school day.
  • Engage parents and the community in the learning process through ongoing two-way communication.
  • Collaborate with other staff to support students; share knowledge and resources with others.
  • Participate in PPT, 504, and/or other parent meetings.
  • Model the importance of social responsibility.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use technology effectively; engage in ongoing professional learning to learn new technological tools.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the superintendent of schools.
