About The Position

The English Language Arts Teacher position at Geraldine Johnson School for the 2025 - 2026 school year involves teaching 7th-grade students. Requirements

• Required certification: English/Language Arts, (006)/(015)/(102).
• Master's degree preferred.
• Three years' successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
• Experience in the use of educational technology.
• Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and adjusts instructional goals and objectives to reflect district/school goals.
• Designs lessons that provide opportunities for problem-solving, creativity, and communication skills.
• Establishes and maintains standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline.
• Commits to ongoing professional development in content area and pedagogy.
• Plans learning activities to address individual differences among students.
• Develops, administers, and evaluates quality formative and summative assessments.
• Monitors and evaluates students' progress in relation to curriculum policies.
• Encourages and maintains the involvement of parents and community members.
• Involves parents in the assessment of their children's progress.
• Required to teach a high school communications/ethics class.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
