About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Head Start Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. This role involves developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum and fostering positive relationships with children and their families.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Preferred)
  • Required: Must meet one of the following Head Start education requirements:
  • A current national infant and toddler center-based CDA credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition
  • A comparable certificate or credential that meets or exceeds the national infant and toddler center-based CDA credential requirements
  • A degree in child development or early childhood education (ECE) as well as training or coursework
  • A degree in a related field as well as training or coursework
  • A comparable credential is issued by state, territory and tribal agencies, boards, and commissions as well as accredited colleges and universities or other early childhood organizations that offer certificate or degree programs.
  • Understands social and economic background and developmental needs of children and families.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of overall Head Start goals and philosophy and performance standards.
  • Demonstrates understanding of principles and functions of leadership and management.
  • Working knowledge of human service delivery systems and resources.
  • Understanding of social and economic background and developmental needs of children and families.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of computer and office technology.

Responsibilities

  • -Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • -Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
  • -Assess and document children's progress and development, providing regular feedback to families.
  • -Collaborate with families to support their child's learning and development.
  • Maintain a clean and organized classroom, ensuring all materials are safe and accessible.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
  • Work as part of a team to support the overall goals of the Head Start program.
