About The Position
The position of Dual Language Spanish Teacher for Grade 2 is responsible for creating a dual-language immersion classroom environment that promotes the learning and personal growth of every student. The teacher will establish effective rapport with students and motivate them to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary to become responsible citizens, tailored to each pupil's ability. The role involves providing standards-based instruction in Spanish as a Second Language and in content areas, collaborating with another teacher who will provide instruction in English and ESL. The classroom will consist of fifty percent native Spanish speakers and fifty percent native English speakers. The teacher is accountable for planning and providing appropriate learning experiences, creating an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of students, supervising students in various school settings, monitoring and evaluating student outcomes, and maintaining appropriate records while following required procedures and practices.
