About The Position

Monroe Public Schools has a vacancy for your consideration. Please find the details below. The position is for an Elementary Art Teacher, specifically for 1.0 (.06 STEM/.04 MONROE EL). Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the teacher will develop students' interest, abilities, talents, and skills for artistic expression and creativity in the visual arts, as well as aesthetic understanding and appreciation by implementing district approved curriculum. Responsibilities include documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes, developing lesson plans, modeling the necessary skills to perform assigned tasks, providing a safe and optimal learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

Requirements

• Connecticut State Certification as an Art Teacher (#042).
• Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
• Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

Nice To Haves

• Masters Degree preferred.
• Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject.
