About The Position

Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job SummaryThe Classroom Aide supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and faith-centered learning environment. This role assists with instructional activities, classroom management, and student supervision while helping to uphold the Catholic identity and values of St. Stephen Protomartyr School.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions, work collaboratively, and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Patience, compassion, and a supportive attitude toward student growth and development.
  • Willingness to model and support the Catholic values and mission of the school.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the teacher with instructional activities, small‑group learning, and individual student support.
  • Help prepare learning materials, organize resources, and support daily classroom routines.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive, respectful, and faith-filled learning atmosphere.
  • Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-classroom times to ensure safety.
  • Support students with diverse learning needs and provide additional academic and behavioral assistance as directed.
  • Assist with administrative and clerical tasks, such as copying, filing, distributing materials, and preparing supplies.
  • Observe and communicate student progress, concerns, or behavioral changes to the teacher.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and school events as required.
