About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum age of 21.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Washington State Driver's License with at least a Class B CDL.
• Meet physical requirements as stated in WAC 392-144-101 and 102.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
• Ability to drive safely and report vehicle malfunctions.
• Ability to work with and control student actions, including those with special needs.
• Ability to report accurately on student actions.
• Ability to react quickly and provide aid in emergencies.
• Ability to administer first aid (must obtain certification within 60 days of hire).
• In-district applicants must be able to drive the assigned route within 5 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with students with special needs.
• Previous experience in a school transportation role.

Responsibilities

• Drive school buses safely and report any vehicle malfunctions.
• Communicate effectively with parents, students, staff, and administrators.
• Control student actions, including those with special needs, during transportation.
• Accurately report student actions and incidents during transport.
• React quickly and provide aid in case of emergencies.
• Administer first aid as needed, obtaining certification within 60 days of hire.
