About The Position

PART-TIME CLASSIFIED CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE25-25-29 hours per week PURPOSE OF JOB:To sell and service classified ads, legals and obituaries and to assist the front office with circulation-related duties, including subscription questions, newspaper rack collections and more. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in an office setting, open Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Hours may vary, but they will be within that time frame. JOB FUNCTIONS:The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent or certificate of higher education.
Operation of standard office equipment including postage machine, counting machine, copier/scanner, etc.
Basic math skills.
Ability to offer courteous customer service.
Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
Strong proofreading and spelling skills.

Responsibilities

Selling classified space in The Crescent-News and its digital products
Selling classified space by placing cold calls
Maintaining accurate call sheets and other sales records
Accept written and verbal direction from supervisors
Work successfully with others in a busy office/deadline driven environment
Maintain regular attendance
Meet daily deadlines
Accepting payment from, and issuing receipts to, customers satisfying their advertising/circulation bills.
Implementing special assignments for new promotions and procedures for additional revenue generation as requested.
Mail/Email tearsheets
Answer and route calls using a multi-line phone system
Special circulation projects as assigned
Sort and process all incoming daily mail and package deliveries
Run circulation/distribution reports, such as missed deliveries, driver reports including driver manifest and bundletops
Run postal reports for each publication, including tray tags, mail labels, qualification report, etc.
Process all Nexxus/Fintech dealer payments
Process weekly rack returns and import them to Newzware
Sort and process newspaper rack revenue weekly as collected by the circulation manager
Process all kiosk starts, including sending invoices and processing payments
Distribute publications throughout the office on publication days
Other job duties as requested
