About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing hiring efforts for Management, Administrative, and Professional positions within Federal Agencies. The role involves performing complex Position Classifications for General Schedule (GS) and Wage Grade (WG) positions, ensuring compliance with classification protocols and standards set by the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the Department. The individual will prepare position evaluation reports, maintain classification data in HRIS, and manage the staffing process from job postings to final job offers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, Management, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of Human Resources classification experience, preferably in the government sector.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and applicant tracking systems.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and analyze Federal documents.
  • Experience staffing for Federal Management, Administrative, and Professional Positions.
  • Experience managing staffing processes in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to monitor service quality and deliver against SLAs.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, complex, and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Considerable skill in interviewing techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex Position Classifications for GS and WG positions.
  • Prepare position evaluation reports and communicate necessary actions based on classification determinations.
  • Develop position descriptions and assign appropriate grade levels based on classification standards.
  • Maintain position description and classification data in HRIS.
  • Follow staffing processes including receiving hiring needs, posting job announcements, and tracking applications.
  • Review Request for Personnel Action (RPA) for completeness and engage with field locations for clarification.
  • Maintain a library of Standard Field MAP position Job Opportunity Announcements (JOAs).
  • Organize and maintain a library of questions accessible to authorized staff.
  • Review applications for eligibility and determine qualified applicants based on required documents.
  • Provide determination of qualified and eligible applicants using various evaluation tools.
