About The Position

PACE Supply is looking for self-starters to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. We need a motivated Class C Driver to strive for excellence and help us maintain our commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service. As a delivery driver at PACE Supply, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You will be responsible for making deliveries as well as performing general warehouse duties such as picking and packing orders, stocking shelves, and maintaining inventory. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. You should be able to lift heavy packages, operate forklifts, and use hand-held scanners. Good communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, as you will interact with customers, suppliers, and team members on a daily basis. Requirements

  • Must successfully pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
  • Proficient in basic mathematical operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with numbers up to four digits.
  • Capable of organizing items systematically by size, alphabetical order, or numerical sequence, and grouping similar items accurately.
  • Thorough understanding of traffic regulations, with a commitment to adhering to speed limits and safe driving practices while operating a company vehicle.
  • Familiarity with protocols for handling accidents in the warehouse or while operating a company vehicle, ensuring compliance with safety and reporting procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic proficiency in operating standard office equipment (e.g., copiers, fax machines) and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Ability to acquire and apply fundamental computer skills, including email communication and inventory management software.
  • Fluent in English, with effective reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Physically capable of consistently lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Eligible to obtain certification for safe operation of forklifts and man lifts, adhering to industry standards (must be at least 18 years old to operate equipment).
  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required competencies.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of verifiable driving experience.
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record, free of violations or accidents.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in warehouse operations, plumbing, or forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Operate delivery vehicles safely, obeying traffic laws and weight limits.
  • Oversee safe loading and ensure accurate orders and high-quality products.
  • Supervise unloading operations for accurate and safe delivery of materials.
  • Ensure punctual deliveries through efficient route planning.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding delays.
  • Flexibly adapt to changing schedules and conditions.
  • Flexibly adapt to specific customer requirements, utilizing specialized equipment if needed.
  • Assist in warehouse duties, including loading and unloading materials as assigned
  • Maintain clear and constant communication with dispatch, ensuring seamless coordination for on-call assignments.
  • Provide responsive on-call service for urgent deliveries.
  • Provide accurate distribution and placement of building materials as per orders.
  • Ensure appropriate paperwork accompanies order, Use of scanning equipment for pickups and deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and address their needs promptly.
  • Adhere to regulatory and company safety directives, ensuring site safety during deliveries.
  • Handle materials physically and oversee the safe unloading and stocking at job sites.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, both within the vehicle and at delivery sites.
  • Inspect vehicle regularly to ensure proper functioning of all equipment.
