About The Position

Interstate Waste Services is Now Hiring CDL B Roll-Off Truck Drivers! Safety is our first Priority! This position requires at least 1 year of verifiable Commercial Driving experience AND experience driving a Roll Off Truck. Interstate Waste Services is the most progressive and innovative provider of solid waste and recycling services in the country! We primarily service Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, New York City, and recently expanded our operations of transfer stations into Pennsylvania and Ohio and now CT, where we also own and operate a state-of-the-art rail-served landfill. We cater to a diverse range of residential, industrial, and commercial customers. Requirements

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake Endorsement.
• 1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public and understand highway traffic signals.
• Ability to read and understand a map.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Willing and able to work required hours as allowed under DOT regulation, which may include weekends, nights, and/or holiday work.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company.
• Highly skilled in backing maneuvers.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Front, Side, or Rear-Loading Trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
• Transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility, making one or more trips throughout the shift.
• Perform driver pre and post inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 100 pounds as required.
• Navigate through congested communities and confined areas in city locations.
• Climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
